CH340G USB To TTL Converter Module is a small 6 pin USB male to serial port TTL converter which is based on CH340 USB to serial (UART) chip. The CH340 series chip can operate in 3 modes of USB to serial interface converter mode, USB to infrared converter mode and USB to printer interface converter mode. The CH340G operates in USB to serial interface converter mode.
The CH340G is a good replacement for PL2303 chip and is specialized for the STC microcontroller download DVD/ hard disk/router/GPS upgrade, compatible with ARDUINO, RASPBERRY PI, AVR, PIC, 8051, etc. It can support all series of STC microcomputer with the slow beginning reset button. It can be supplied by dual 3.3V and 5V power (can directly be used by 5V supply or by shorting two pins supplied it with logical voltage) and work with 3.3v and 5 V target device (It has a small switch to enable us to turn the VC voltage (Supply output) pin  between 3.3 and 5V.). It has three LED  indicators for showing power on, receiver (RX) and transmitter (TX) status. It can easily interface USB port with microcontroller projects and support Windows XP,  Windows 7 32-bit, 64-bit, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 32-bit and 64-bit, Mac and Linux operating system. Its correct operation can be tested by the shunt to connect TX and RX (loop back test)
